Welcome our newest Design Team Members!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  We have a special announcement today as will be introducing our newest Design Team members.

I want to personally thank all of the wonderfully talented artists who applied.  I received more applications than I could ever dream of and it was a very hard decision.  I had originally only planned on picking 2 additional Design Team members, but because of the breadth of talent, I eventually decided on 4.

I hope you share in my excitement as I announce the following new designers to the Frog Dog Studio family.  These beautiful ladies will start creating with the March kit, so I am super excited and can’t wait to see their amazing inspiration and creativity!

First up is Sanna Lippert.  Sanna joined Frog Dog Studio last October and November as a Guest Designer.  We fell in love with her wonderful projects back then, so we are over the top excited she is joining the team.  Here’s a bit about Sanna.

Hi! My name is Sanna Lippert and I live close to Vienna in Austria. I have been a paper lover since I was a very little girl. I used to draw and do crafting for hours and hours. All my drawers were full of "creations". After my son´s were born I discovered scrapbooking and I have been addicted ever since. I mainly create layouts in different sizes as well as cards and minibooks. One of my recent passions is mixed media. When I´m not scrapbooking, I´m either working at my day job or weaving rugs, socks or doing something else creative. I cannot image life without doing handicrafts. In crafting my constant companions are a black pen, small embellishments, stamps, all kinds of media and mists. No particular style I like most, I usually create based on how I´m feeling. I love this hobby and love trying out new products and techniques. I love to create, experiment and share my projects and ideas. I am very excited to be a part of Frog Dog Studio with these very talented ladies! Thanks for having me!

You can see Sanna’s work on her blog HERE!

Next up, we would like to welcome Smitha Katti!  I have personally followed Smitha’s work through the past couple of years and I love her fresh and colorful designs.

Let’s get to know a bit more about Smitha.

Hello everyone! I am Smitha Katti.
I am a complete craft addict and love all kinds of mediums: be it paper, digital or hybrid and am always in the middle of some project. All my life I have been drawn to crafts of all kinds- paper crafts, photography, knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, sketching or sculpting. I'm so excited to be part of this mixed media kit club!
Color is in every aspect of my life…  And this color translates into art. I find inspiration everywhere and am constantly doodling and jotting down thoughts onto whatever scrap paper is available at hand. I have a long list of ideas in my head, and am constantly making something in my art room… More ideas than time!
I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband and two daughters.

You can see Smitha’s work on her blog HERE!

Next up is Heather Kindt.  I first came across this incredible talent when I became obsessed with Splash of Color product.  Heather is a diverse talent and we are looking forward to what she creates each month.

Let’s get to know Heather a bit more.

I live in Iowa with my husband and son. I was not friends with art until after my son was born 7 years ago. Before that I just thought I wasn't creative. When I started taking online classes on art journaling, I found my passion. I quickly jumped around a variety of media and discovered I like them all! I can't wait to put my twist on Frog Dog Studio's kits!

You can visit Heather at her blog HERE!

Last, but not least!  We are SO excited to welcome Wendy Morris.  I have always been a fan of Wendy’s scrappy projects, but her mixed media designs are FABBO!

Let’s get to know Wendy a bit more.

I'm Wendy Morris.  Living on the Gulf coast in Daphne, Alabama. Carefree. World traveler. Fearless. Confident. Positive. Full of random adventure. Pianist. Audit manager (but just because I’m an auditor does not mean I am is not a creative soul). Unique yet original. Art runs thick in my blood....everyone in my family can draw. Strong love for photography, fashion, and music and I really focus on this rainbow of inspiration in my creative mojo. I’m always inspired by things around me and make time each day for art....living in the motto to “find inspiration everyday everywhere”.  It’s funny that when I’m not creating I’m usually jotting down ideas for creations later once back in my art room.

You can visit Wendy at her blog HERE!

Whew…so much goodness all on one page!  I can’t wait to see what these ladies create for us in March.  I am positive it will knock your socks off!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!

Have You Ever Wondered? FYI Studio 490 Embossing Paste and Art Parts

Martha Richardson here with my "Have You Ever Wondered?" series. With this Oct. kit that is jam packed with the most delicious products it was hard to decide which products I wanted to highlight! I narrowed it down to the two products that I have had  a long standing love affair with. Let's take a look at these products.

STUDIO 490 Products are the brain child of Wendy Vecchi who is the newest Signature Designer at Ranger Ink and also designs for Stampers Anonymous and Blossom Bucket. I have to say that I am a fan of all of Wendy's products, they are so easy to work with! Today I'm going to share a quick glance at 2 of the products found in this months kit...The Embossing Paste and the Art Parts.

What is Embossing Paste & what does it do? Embossing Pastes were created to  add texture & dimension to your projects. They can be used with all Distress Products (Inks, Stains & Markers) & designed to work with Studio 490 Stencils, Art Parts & Stamps. A 4 oz. jar of Embossing Paste has a 5-year shelf life. There are 5 available colors: Matte White, Matte Black, Metallic Gold, Metallic Silver  & Transparent. In the Oct. kit you received a jar of the Matte White. What impresses me so is the ease of working with this paste...it is smooth and very workable, has a great consistency and it cleans up so easily. I will confess that I own ALL the colors and use them in many of my projects. In my project I used the new Transparent color and the example below I used the Metallic Gold and it is simply stunning!

Also in this months kit is a package of Wendy's Studio 490 Art Parts. What are art parts? Art Parts are blank kraft-colored, pre-cut pieces made from a high quality composite material and are ready to alter with your favorite products. Can be layered, inked, sanded, covered in paper, Tissue Tape, Colorwash Inks, stamped, painted...and more!Much thicker than chipboard, these parts can be use to make art to keep or to make art to give away and the art will last a lifetime. The surface holds ink like a dream. These strong, sturdy components measure 1/8" thick. Wendy has also created Art Part Kit Projects that you can find here.

Here is the project I created from the Oct. Main Kit. It is a mixed media canvas done with the idea of the Fall season that has arrived. I was influenced by the thought of a Harvest Moon and the night time skies.

These are the steps to creating this project.

Thank you for stopping by and spending time with me. I can only encourage you to stop by every day to see all the incredible projects made by the Frog Dog Studio Design Team and October's Guest designers. You will not be disappointed!!!

More ATC Card Fun!

Have you been having fun with this monthly kit...Martha Richardson here with another look at creating ATC Cards. They are such fun...little miniature pieces of art.

Let's take a look at how I start my creative process.

I keep a scrap box of leftovers scraps from other projects...I throw the scraps in a box knowing that someday something will be perfect for some project. I play around with what I've chosen to work with and arrange and re-arrange until I'm happy with the composition. This is an evolving process & I don't rush it. I leave it out and as I walk by I look...I change...I look...I re-arrange. When I'm pleased I move onto the next step!

You will see in the next photos how I put one of the ATC cards together.

Once started it is hard to stop creating these fun cards. I find that ATC cards are great stash busters. I keep referring to this but I know that we all have paper issues {LOL} and I'm also finding a way to break that stash up!

Thanks for stopping by. Lots more this month so make sure you stop back and see what the other Design Team members are up to!!!
