Hello everyone, it's Keri here, I'm hoping that so far 2014 is treating you fabulously!
2014 is a year of change for me, which I'm sad to say, means that this will be my last month here at Frog Dog Studio. I'm moving into a new/old home on a large plot of land, so let the renovation adventures begin! My creative time for 2014 will be mostly spent with a paintbrush or tool in my hand, but rather than canvas and paper, it will be walls and wood!
For my final tutorial, I had some fun with glossy photo paper & art mediums from my lovely Frog Dog collection. It's so fun to just play "art chemist" for a while, and experiment with how different art mediums react to the glossy paper. I had a blast and hope you'll enjoy it too!
A big THANK YOU to Tina, the Frog Dog design team, and those of you who have participated and left such nice comments during my time here. I've enjoyed it so much, and will definitely continue to keep my eye on the gorgeous creativity that you all create with your current and future Frog Dog kits.

Out-of-the-Box with Mini Albums
Hey everybody, Happy January to you all!
This month's kit was the PERFECT opportunity to make a gift for my Dr.-Who-loving, England-living brother! Instead of a mini-album, I made him a London phone-booth message center for his countertop.
Love this happy little accident...the "hold, please" peeks out perfectly from the cut-out on the front piece of the album!
I have to say, the inks in this kit are incredible! A perfect match to heavily coat the gorgeous wood pieces from Genuinely Jane.

Fun with Pens & the November Kit...
I love the variety of pens included in the November kit...opaque, glaze, metallic. These different finishes add great interest & dimension to the gorgeous art coloring pages by Catherine Scanlon.
Here's a look at how I layered the pens with the watercolors on a project.
First, I did a light wash of horizontally-striped color across the entire page; blues, greens, purples, and metallic neutrals.
Next up, the white souffle pen, love this thing! It goes on clear, and turns a great opaque white when it dries.
Outline with black to make the flowers pop.
Add detailing with the glaze pen - love that these pens look "wet" and glossy even when dry.
Finish off with metallic centers for the flowers.
Add a quote.
I edged the page in silver watercolor, and can't wait to frame it for my craft space.
Like others on the DT have said, these coloring pages are a joy to work with, very therapeutic & so fun to customize. Can't wait to see all the different ways YOU make these pages your own, so don't forget to show them off by linking here or on facebook!

October Expanding Your Options - Keri

This month, I created a Poe-themed Halloween decor piece, layering art mediums & accents from each current & past Frog Dog kit. The new products types in the mix this month are the embossing paste, embossing powder, and spray ink from October's kit.

September Expanding Your Options - Keri
Hi everyone, it's time again for my monthly series, Expanding Your Options!
This month, I've layered products from all of my past Frog Dog kits to create a fun DIY suncatcher for my kitchen window.
The idea for the design came from this great Joann's tutorial by Mark Montano. Cool, right?

And here's a close-up of how awesome the crackle/alcohol ink combo looks, with the sun shining in through the window:
Love this look, and can't wait to experiment even more with crackle+alcohol ink on transparent surfaces!

Make Your Own Art Journal
Hey everyone, it's Keri here today, sharing a photo tutorial with you about how to make your own simple art journal.
I made this one for my oldest daughter, using Kraft paper filler & chipboard covers. The simple binding ties it all up, and she is free to carry it around with her to jot things in, to draw in before bed, or paint in during family craft time. Fun!
Today I'm making another one...this time around it's for my youngest daughter so she can play along too.

Image Transfer with Keri - Video Tutorial
Earlier in the month, Melissa posted a great photo tutorial about direct image transfer to an art journal page. Then Rita showed a cool image transfer technique with packing tape and an acrylic ATC.

Crackle Accents Fun with Keri
Hi to all my mixed media friends out there, it's Keri, and I'm thrilled to be sharing my first video tutorial for Frog Dog Studio with you, using the July kit.

My favorite part about this project is the crackle-frames that I created on each side of the box, using the large hinge as a tracing guide. Crackle medium is definitely a staple in my craft space, and I used it on each July project in different ways, such fun!
On to the video! This month, I've created a step-by-step tutorial for the crackle-frames, as well as a look at my other projects using this great art medium from the July kit.
Since this is my first video tutorial for Frog Dog Studio, I'd love to have your feedback after you've seen it...hope you enjoy:
