Let's see what the Frog Dog Studio team created today!

Design Team member Lea Cioci shares our first project share.  Here's what she has to say!

I have two different projects that highlight the wonderful December Kit at Frog Dog Studio!!! I like that each kit gives you major media to use in your art, and ephemera as well as elements to make several complete works of art! The DT, I am proud to be on, helps those who are looking for ideas, techniques and eye candy!!!

Stamping with Silks!

Found a gold chipboard tag and wanted to design a simple, festive look as an alternative to a greeting card. Flat painting and smooshing plastic wrap to create texture.

To stamp with Silks, use a sponge or a cut piece of Ranger's foam Sheet, and paint a good amount of Silks on it. The paint will go into the surface but because it doesn't totally soak in, it makes a perfect stamp pad! The Ranger Foam is exactly what they use for some of their stamp pads. There are felt sheets too. Use the foam and tap on the stamp from the kit, and then stamp on the tag. Stamp the image off the edges of the tag. Cool effect!!!

Add elements, wire and twine or raffia with beads to complete the look!

A created vignette' which highlights the Primary of Shopping and the Christmas Season! The smaller art is designed on the Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements Fabric. Silk Paints glaze areas, and after using the modeling paste; the Silks add light semi-transparent colors that make the letters POP! The tree is a flat, wood tree. The Modeling paste and Silks bring this little tree to life. Silks were used on one of the accents pieces and on some of the circles of the background cardstock. The mesh and one of the collage images complete the look!

The Tim Holtz stencil is adhered to the fabric using painter's tape.

After applying paste to the stencil and removing excess, this is how it looks on the fabric before adding color with Silk Paints.

This is perfect for a journal cover or photo album cover!

Our next project share is by Design Team member Melissa Johnson.  She created an amazing Holiday Project you will simply love!

I can't tell you how much I am enjoying using the products from Splash of Color. Right now my favorites are definitely the Luminarte Silks, the Viva Colour Modeling Creme, and the Viva Colour Glitter Paste. With that in mind, I wanted to create a little bit of holiday decor using those products.

To begin, I created a background by collaging some old book paper and using the Silks and the Modeling Creme, which reminded me of snow. I also used the modeling creme with some stencils to add some texture. I used a Gelli print from my stash and some washi tape to create the tree. Using the tip of a stick, I created little "ornaments" using different colors of the Silks. I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut the little bird from our Frog Dog Studio kit. When that was done I sealed it all with matte medium and dried it with my heat gun. When it was all dry, I coated the entire piece with the Glitter Paste. I love how sparkly and winter-y this piece turned out!
