{a mixed media sympathy card}

Hello crafty friends! This is Smitha here and today I wanted to share this mixed media card I made using Aprils Frog Dog Mixed Media kit.

I make cards for various occasions, but I rarely make sympathy cards. This card was a special one and I felt like the process of making brought some peace to me.

Its not a standard card size, its bigger so that it can be a group card that more people can sign on the inside of.

 I started with the quote I had in mind "May the constant love of caring friends soften your sadness, may cherished memories bring you moments of comfort, may lasting peace surround your grieving heart"

Next, I added color using paints and gesso. I added some stamping using the red ink pad that came in the kit.

I doodled some extra flowers in and then added gel medium + embossing powder on the flowers. I added some gold highlights to the paper.

Lastly, I used a fine tip pen to go over the words slowly and carefully. I outlined the flowers as well and the card looked finished to me.

The final step was to make an envelope for the card. I lined the inside of the envelope with some of the awesome tissue paper that came in the kit.
